A fixture for stress relieving of equalising beams at Car Bottom furnace was fabricated by Millwright shop. Proper stress relieving is done by providing a gap between the equalising beams thereby allowing the hot gases to contact with entire surface area of the beams. This ensures uniform heating of surface area and effective soaking. This also reduces the heat loss as well as the fuel consumption.
